Friday Im In Love.

Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues (Alternate Version)

This is the Bob Dylan video from 1965 which shows him doing cinema verite, we have used this in our music video at the end in which we have wrote fin at the end to show the end of the video and we have also made it as a documentary style video by using hand held cameras, by doing this we have purposely made the camera have a shaky effect which shows the fun side to our music video and our unique personalities.

Editing

We have just started editing our music video, and we have found some good footage that can make the music video look original, we are going to do this by lip syncing our work so that i looks like we are singing, we have found some problems on this though, this is when we are trying to delete a piece of media it is moving the time line, this then makes our video out of sync we have found away to do this by dragging the piece up above the others and locking this so that it doesn't move, so we have overcome this, we still have some more to film but we are reviewing what we did to see how much left we need to film, we are thinking of using the green screen, to show our different creative skills. The next part of our filming we are thinking of filming outside the BBC in Manchester this is then going to be our prop that we are going to a concert in the BBC.

Mise en scène

We brought a number of props in, this enabled us to give the room a feel of an trashed 1980's bedroom. These included: Party poppers, videos tapes, beer cans, cassettes, 1980's posters, electric lamp, duvets, a bed and a bag-puss soft toy.

The idea of these props was to create the "80's" feel for the room. The wallpaper as seen in the p hoto above helps create this feeling as it is quite old. Also we used this room for one of the scenes due to the bland colour of the wallpaper which we used to attract attention to ourselves and the props around the room. As it draws attention to the props around the room it helps contribute to the trashed feeling of the room.

We also stuck some of "The Cure's" vinyl's up on the wall as they were colourful and it also reference's the band. It also suggests that we as the band would be living in the room.

The picture above is just a snapshot of some of the props around the room. This shows the video cassettes, which is referencing the "80's". In the shot we also see the blue glasses, we used the reflection from the mirrored lenses of the glasses to capture a shot of us leaving the room. We used this shot as we felt it was different, it creates a feel of the room watching as we leave. We did this rather than just have another medium shot of us leaving the room as we felt it helped add to the variety of shots which keeps the viewer interested.

Costume

As our video was based in the 1980's our costume, hair and make up had to reflect this time period. However we also had to take into account the genere of the song which further influenced our style choice. We decided therefore that the theme of clothing should be "Denim" and "Black". This choice was further backed by the fact "The Cure" wear this type of clothing in some of thiervideos.

We stuck with general theme of various denims and black for our costumes. We see Tom and Paige both stick with the blue denim shirt theme as originally planned. We also see through Marks and Siobhans attire the use of black bold clothing as we originally chose to use to create this "80's" style effect. Tom and Paige both wear black jeans to fit in with the "80's" costume.
So we all agreed as a group we should go for our costumes being dark with denim, as we did this we felt it made the 4 of us look more like a group rather than just 4 random people.

First Filming Location

Our first filming location was an old fashioned house based in Blackley. The empty house was perfect for our group to set up the 1980's bedroom scene.
